DETROIT RETAIL ATTRACTION
PROPERTY OWNER AND BUSINESS OWNER SUPPORT Detroit, MI | 2019
Underserved retail markets exist throughout the nation and conditions were exacerbated in the City of Detroit. As such, the city developed an entrepreneurial ecosystem resulting in businesses opening across the city. Additionally, the city has identified 10 strategic neighborhoods in which 14 commercial corridors exist with the potential to create neighborhood retail districts. Analyzing these conditions, the Detroit Economic Growth Corporation, in partnership with the City government’s economic development and planning agencies, engaged Bobby Boone as an employee and, then, as founder of &Access, to strategically activate the neighborhood commercial corridors and grow citywide retail offerings. The results of Bobby’s work in the city of Detroit is multifold to include commercial development strategies rooted in market data, policies to support their development, and retail attraction.
